NEWCASTLE, Okla. (AP) - Emergency management officials in the Oklahoma City suburb of Newcastle believe two tornadoes struck the town.

Newcastle Emergency Management Director Kevin Self says it appears one tornado struck the southwestern portion of the town and the second struck in the southeast on Wednesday afternoon. Self said both twisters occurred at about 4:30 p.m.

Self said there were no immediate reports of damage or injury, but that police and firefighters were searching the areas.

Newcastle is one of two towns where the National Weather Service at one point issued a tornado emergency, but later canceled the emergency.
