LINDEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a would-be bank robber was captured after he allegedly tried to carjack at least two vehicles and led police on a brief foot chase.

Linden police tell NJ.com (https://bit.ly/1IhGDKJ) that officers responded shortly before 2 p.m. to a reported robbery at a Bank of America branch office. They say the man was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, but it wasn’t known if he got any money before fleeing the bank.

After the alleged carjackings failed, authorities say the man ran across a highway, jumped a fence and entered a warehouse, where he was soon captured.

Authorities say the man complained of difficulty breathing and was treated for a hand laceration. His name has not been released.
