BRIDGE CREEK, Okla. (AP) - The Grady County Emergency Services director says dozens of homes have been destroyed by tornadoes on the outskirts of the Oklahoma City metro area.

Dale Thompson said preliminary estimates indicate about 10 homes were destroyed in Amber and about 25 more in Bridge Creek were destroyed or have major damage as a strong storm system produced tornadoes Wednesday afternoon.

Thompson says there are no reports of injuries.

State Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Keli Cain says an unknown number of homes in Blanchard in the same area were also damaged.

Cain also said there are no reports of injuries, but says the agency has activated its emergency operations center.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. Paul Timmons says a tractor-trailer truck overturned on Interstate 44 as a severe storm crossed the highway.
