CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Wildlife Habitat Management Areas, which were closed to minimize the disturbance of wintering elk, deer and other wildlife, are opening for public use.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/cifL3h ) some areas opened May 1 and others are set to open May 15, May 16 or June 1. The areas typically offer various outdoor recreation activities that include hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and wildlife viewing.

Wildlife officials are asking people to stay on designated travel routes, obey signs and camp in designated areas.
