FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - After more than a decade of planning and building, the Kentucky National Guard Memorial will be dedicated later this month.

The memorial at Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort contains the names of 233 men and women who died in the line of duty since 1912 and features a statue of Daniel Boone.

The dedication ceremony is at 2 p.m. EDT on Memorial Day, May 25. Patriotic music will be performed by members of the 202nd Army Band.

Organizers are asking those who are family of people listed on the memorial to contact them at [email protected] before the event.
