SEATTLE (AP) - A man accused of fatally stabbing a woman in the Seattle suburb of Bellevue and setting fire to her apartment has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and first-degree arson.

Bellevue police say 30-year-old Song Wang was arrested last month in Northern California, a week after the March 31 death of 37-year-old Kittaporn Saosawatsri. Police say the killer also set fire to the woman’s sixth-floor apartment. The building was damaged but no one was hurt by the fire.

KOMO-TV reports (https://is.gd/UhMjAr ) Wang was arraigned Wednesday in Superior Court. He’s held on $5 million bail.

Court documents say the woman suffered roughly 20 stab wounds. According to court papers, a friend who co-signed a lease with the woman said she worked as an escort out of the apartment.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Wang after analyzing the victim’s phone records and surveillance video from the apartment building.
