CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) - Former NFL coach and Eastern Illinois University graduate Mike Shanahan will speak at two of the school’s commencement ceremonies on Saturday.

Eastern said Tuesday that it expects more than 1,400 students to graduate at the four ceremonies at Lantz Arena on its campus in Charleston.

Shanahan will speak at the noon and 3 p.m. ceremonies.

Shanahan led the Denver Broncos to a pair of Super Bowl wins in the 1990s and most recently coached the Washington Redskins from 2010-13. He was a quarterback at Eastern Illinois in the early 1970s.

Other speakers include another pair of Eastern graduates, former NFL referee and retired EIU Director of Campus Recreation Kenneth J. Baker and Barbara Bauer. She is the retired chief operating officer of County Financial.
