WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a man was struck and killed when he tried to walk across Interstate 95 in Wilmington.

It happened about 12:20 a.m. Wednesday near Martin Luther King Boulevard. Troopers say the unidentified man was trying to cross the highway’s southbound lanes when he was hit by a car driven by 22-year-old Robin D. Hughes of Wilmington.

Police say the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Hughes and a passenger in his car were not hurt.

The incident is under investigation.
