ABITA SPRINGS, La. (AP) - Two men have been accused of accepting a FedEx package stuffed with 60 pounds of marijuana in Abita Springs and taking it to Covington.

State police said in a news release U.S. Customs and Border protection agents detected the package passing through FedEx’s Memphis hub on April 25. Louisiana state police say the agents arranged a controlled delivery with them and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Police say 57-year-old Alfred Flint accepted the package on April 29. When police went to the Covington residence with a warrant, they saw 47-year-old Hector Gonzalez taking marijuana out of the box.

Both men were arrested on possession with intent to distribute marijuana and Flint received another charge for possession of a stolen firearm. It is unclear if either has a lawyer.
