CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities have confirmed a body found along the banks of the Ohio River in Gallia County is that of a missing West Virginia woman.

Multiple media outlets report the body found by a property owner Saturday is 33-year-old Frances Wartenburg, who has been missing since February 22 after leaving a birthday party in Jefferson, West Virginia. Family says it took them days to realize the woman was missing and details of her disappearance are hazy. She may have traveled home to St. Albans in western West Virginia.

Dental records were used to identify the remains.

Authorities are still investigating Wartenburg’s death.
