BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - A Mississippi man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for molesting an 11-year-old girl.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1EgHtAb ) Circuit Judge Larry Bourgeois sentenced 25-year-old Poplarville resident Stanley Hart this week.

Hart had pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery.

Assistant District Attorney Chris Daniel said Waveland police began investigating Hart in January 2013 after receiving a call from a resident at an apartment complex. Hart confessed to investigators that he had molested the girl during a one-week period.

Hart will not be eligible for early release from prison. He will be required to register as a sex offender the rest of his life.
