PERHAM, Maine (AP) - State police say one man has died in a single-vehicle crash in northern Maine.

Troopers responded to High Meadow Road in Perham at about 10 p.m. Wednesday after a passing motorist reported that a pickup truck had crashed.

Emergency personnel confirmed that the driver, 40-year-old Mark Skidgel, of Perham, was dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Skidgel was driving east when his pickup drifted off the roadway, struck a culvert, rolled over and came to rest on its side. Skidgel was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected.

The cause remains under investigation.
