NEW MARKET, Va. (AP) - Virginia Military Institute is now selling tickets for the 151st anniversary re-enactment of the Battle of New Market.

The re-enactment will be held at the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park beginning May 16.

Tickets include admission to the park and the Virginia Museum of the Civil War, both of which are owned by VMI.

The Battle of New Market re-enactment is the oldest battle re-enactment in the nation, and one of a few held on the original site. More than 1,000 re-enactors are expected to attend this year’s event.
