THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Progressive Waste Solutions plans to address trash collection problems the Thibodaux City Council discussed this week.

Councilman Chad Mire said constituents have called him about garbage that is frequently not collected and trash being dropped from the trucks into streets and yards.

Mire said Tuesday he had a limb in front of his house since July that was only recently collected.

Bill Frey, a Progressive Waste Solutions manager, tells The Daily Comet (https://bit.ly/1AHoUEF) a supervisor will be going through neighborhoods daily to check on trash collections and make sure the problems are resolved.

He says company trucks that leaked liquid on to the streets will be repaired.

Mayor Tommy Eschete said he thinks overall garbage collection has improved since the company expanded services in the city.
