DENVER (AP) - A former editorial page editor of The Denver Post will take over as head of Colorado’s most visible oil and gas industry group.

The Post reports (https://dpo.st/1H0wNda ) that 45-year-old Dan Haley succeeds Tisha Schuller as the president and CEO of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association.

Haley has worked as vice president of communications, development and strategy for EIS Solutions and director of corporate communications for CoBank.

Schuller announced in March that she would step down at the end of May after more than five years on the job. She says she intended to leave sooner but stayed because of the tensions that emerged amid the drilling boom.

Relations between the industry and some local governments and residents sometimes became contentious as rigs set up near growing subdivisions.
