RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The FAA is investigating a mysterious, industrial-sized nut and bolt that came crashing through a Raleigh family’s roof.

WTVD-TV (https://abc11.tv/1KMRdrc ) reports the nut and bolt fell seemingly out of the sky and into the Weber family home Tuesday. The hefty metal piece fell with so much speed and force it spiraled through the roof and became lodged in the bedroom ceiling.

No one was injured.

An FAA investigator from Greensboro arrived Wednesday to try to determine if the bolt could be from a plane because the Webers live in the flight path of two airports. But the investigator determined the bolt is not from a plane.

The family say it is possible the bolt snapped off a piece of equipment in their subdivision, which is under construction.
