WATSONVILLE, Calif. (AP) - A Mexican man who was a fugitive for more than 20 years has been deported to Mexico to face charges in the 1991 killings of seven members of a family, including an 8-year-old boy.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports (https://bit.ly/1EYXqQ8 ) U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents turned over 62-year-old Heriberto Gomez Galicia to Mexican authorities Wednesday.

Authorities say Gomez Galicia is wanted in his home state of Oaxaca. A warrant for his arrest alleges Gomez Galicia and his family was feuding with another family.

The warrant says Gomez Galicia and his two brothers stalked the family’s patriarch as he tended his livestock. When the father fled, the trio sought out other members of the family and carried out the attack.
