LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Little Rock Zoo has shipped four of its six Malayan tigers to other zoos.

The zoo announced Thursday that three of four tiger cubs born in November were sent to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle in March and the mother of the cubs was sent to the Bronx Zoo in New York where she will be paired with a male tiger.

One cub and the father of the cubs remain in Little Rock.

The move is at the recommendation of the SAZA Malayan Tiger Species Survival Plan in an effort to secure the long-term survival of endangered species as well as companionship recommendations for particular animals.
