GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A man has been charged in the death of a Greenville bartender after police say he punched the victim in the face at a social gathering and the man later died.

Greenville police told WYFF-TV (https://bit.ly/1EZjFFO ) 47-year-old John A. Kuhne Jr. was charged with involuntary manslaughter after turning himself in Wednesday. Police say Kuhne punched 37-year-old Jacob Baltz on March 22 at a social gathering at Kuhne’s residence. Baltz fell and hit his head on a brick patio and was knocked unconscious.

Police found Baltz dead at his home several days later during a welfare check. The Coroner’s office says Baltz died of blunt force trauma to the head around noon on March 23. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Baltz was a bartender at several popular Greenville establishments.
