WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A suspect in a Drug Enforcement Administration case has been arrested after he crashed into a school bus during a car chase.
West Haven police say DEA agents were staking out the area Thursday when they spotted a suspect wanted on a felony warrant. The suspect saw them, fled in his car, and hit a small school bus containing 13 children as well as a parked car.
Witnesses say a separate SUV ended up in a nearby yard and two people jumped out and hopped over a nearby fence.
Seven children had minor injuries and were released to parents at the scene.
A replacement bus picked up the remaining six children.
The accident happened in a West Haven neighborhood about three miles southwest of New Haven.
