ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Rescue crews are searching for a homeless man witnesses say went swimming in a pond while intoxicated and never resurfaced.

WTSP-TV (https://on.wtsp.com/1P1PZhD) reports the fire department received a call Wednesday night about a person who went for a swim in Ruby Lake in St. Petersburg and went under.

Two witnesses said the man took off some of his clothes to go for a swim in the lake has not been seen since. One of the witnesses is a friend of the missing man and said he was intoxicated.

A dive team was called to the scene to search the lake for a possible victim. Crews ended their search late Wednesday night.
