CORBIN, Ky. (AP) - A spring-cleaning day is scheduled at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in southeastern Kentucky.

State parks officials say the beautification day is set for May 16.

Parks officials say the Cumberland River becomes littered with trash in the spring when rains cause flooding. They say the park needs help from volunteers to restore Cumberland Falls to its natural beauty.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the visitor center at 9 a.m. on May 16 to register and receive garbage bags. Volunteers will receive a cookout lunch.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park has a lodge, a restaurant, cottages, campground, hiking trails, horseback riding, rafting and a great view of Cumberland Falls.
