PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police have arrested a teenager after a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a Temple University lacrosse player.

Rashan Roberts was charged Thursday with leaving the scene of an accident. The accident last month left senior Rachel Hall on life support.

The charge carries a minimum 90-day prison sentence.

Police say the 18-year-old Philadelphia resident who’s also known as Robert Roberts was driving a Mitsubishi Galant illegally with only a learner’s permit and no licensed adult in the car. They say Roberts confessed one day later saying he panicked after hitting Hall.

Investigators say the teenager would likely not have faced charges had he stayed. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 22.

Hall, of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, remains unconscious.
