MARSEILLES, Ill. (AP) - Officials in LaSalle County say a fisherman died in boating accident due to rough water and wind on LaSalle Lake.

The (LaSalle) News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1cvbvuk ) that the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and LaSalle County coroner both confirm the man died Thursday afternoon. He wasn’t immediately identified.

Authorities say they received an emergency call reporting a capsized boat carrying three fishermen. The other two men were pulled to safety. The National Weather Service says wind gusts in the area were 32 mph.

Conservation Police Sgt. Hank Frazier says the wind warning light at the LaSalle Lake boat ramp was temporarily out of order. The DNR says no boats are supposed to enter the lake when the light is flashing.
