RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Richmond police say two people are dead and three others are in the hospital after three separate shootings.

WWBT-TV (https://bit.ly/1zQeS9F ) reports nearly a dozen police cars swarmed a housing community in the city’s East End late Thursday after officers heard shots fired.

Officers pronounced one person dead at the scene while two others were taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment. All three victims are in their 20s, and no suspects are currently under arrest.

Earlier Thursday, police responded to two other shootings, which left one man dead and another person injured on the South Side. A man in his 20s died after a shooting just after 3 p.m. Another man was shot multiple times less than two hours later and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
