WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Three students have been accused of selling prescription drugs at a school for ninth-graders in West Des Moines.

Police told Des Moines television station KCCI (https://bit.ly/1DVZGm6 ) that the three have been charged and that three more students are involved in the sales at Valley Southwoods Freshman High School.

Sgt. Brent Kock says the drugs were believed to be Adderall and antidepressants. Adderall is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

West Des Moines Community Schools Superintendent Lisa Remy says she hopes the case will help teach parents and grandparents that prescription pills should not be accessible to young people.
