PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) - A quadruple-murder suspect has been arraigned in Petersburg after fleeing from the city more than a year ago.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/1EVq8jM ) Alexander R. Hill Jr. was arraigned Friday on 10 charges, including four counts of first-degree murder for the 2014 Easter weekend slaying of four family members.

Hill appeared in a Petersburg courtroom via a video feed from Riverside Regional Jail. He was arrested April 23 in Buffalo, New York, where he’d been living since February.

Hill refused to respond to questions from the judge or sign paperwork.

His arrest comes just over a year after authorities found the bodies of three women and a 2-year-old inside a home that had been set on fire in April 2014.

Hill’s other charges include possession of child pornography and making false reports to police.
