BOSTON (AP) - A Boston teenager facing charges after he was caught on video “train surfing” on an MBTA subway train says what he did was “stupid.”

MBTA police say they arrested 18-year-old Jonathan Lopez this week after he was seen on surveillance video grabbing a hold near the roof of an Orange Line train, lifting his feet off the ground and riding the train along the platform before jumping off.

Lopez was released on personal recognizance Thursday after pleading not guilty to train surfing, disorderly conduct and riding as a non-fare paying passenger.

Lopez tells WCVB-TV he was “stupid” and “I really learned my lesson.”

He is also facing charges for allegedly doing a handstand on the roof of a fast-moving train in October. That stunt was recorded and posted online.
