GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - A Greensboro man has been indicted on intentional child abuse after police say he caused third-degree burns, brain damage and other serious injuries to his 16-month-old daughter.

The Greensboro News-Record (https://bit.ly/1dRkUN8 ) reports 27-year-old Rayshawn Donta Huff was indicted by a Guilford County grand jury this week on one count of felony intentional child abuse causing serious bodily injury.

A police spokeswoman says the incident happened on March 4, but Huff was not arrested until March 26. Police declined to release information about why Huff was arrested about three weeks later, citing the confidentiality of juvenile abuse records. According to the indictment, Huff is accused of intentionally assaulting the toddler.
