MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) - A Tacoma man accused of fatally shooting a Mount Vernon taxi driver has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and robbery.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1RinQBF ) that 29-year-old Solomona Fatu Luteru entered his plea Thursday. He remains in custody at Skagit County Jail on $1 million bail.

Prosecutors say Luteru shot and killed 46-year-old Lisamarie Eason, of Anacortes, who was found dead inside a taxi van with gunshot wounds to her head March 30.

Luteru is also accused of stealing a car, cellphone and shoes at gunpoint from a woman after Eason’s death.

A Skagit County Superior Court Judge denied a request to either release Luteru from custody or reduce his bail. He said he believes Luteru is a threat to the community and a flight risk.
