PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A top aide to former Gov. John Kitzhaber has a new job at the city of Portland.

The city announced Friday that Michael Jordan will be the new head of the Bureau of Environmental Services, Portland’s sewer agency.

Jordan is a longtime public administrator and former Clackamas County commissioner. Kitzhaber appointed him head of the state Department of Administrative Services and bestowed the title of the state’s chief operating officer. He stepped down shortly after Kitzhaber resigned earlier this year.

Portland City Commissioner Nick Fish, who oversees the sewer bureau, says Jordan will continue a tradition of cost-effective sewer and storm-water services.
