LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has rung the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

He’s in New York Friday capping a two-day trip to promote Michigan and tell of its economic comeback. Others joining Snyder to ring the bell included state budget director John Roberts, Michigan Economic Development Corp. CEO Steve Arwood and communications director Jarrod Agen.

After ringing the bell, Snyder viewed trading activity for Michigan-based companies listed on the exchange.

Snyder met Thursday with site selectors who help companies choose where to locate and hosted a reception at a Detroit watch company Shinola’s flagship store in New York City.

The Republican governor has announced he won’t run for president in 2016 but will continue traveling nationally to tout the state.
