ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is sending state emergency crews to fight a wildfire in Greene County in the Hudson Valley.

Cuomo’s office says the fire, which started Thursday, is 30 percent contained. Personnel from the State Police, Office of Emergency Management and other agencies will go to assist local first responders.

Cuomo’s office says the fire is in mountainous terrain and dense forest. Several nearby trails have been closed and campfires in the Catskills Forest Preserve are prohibited through Thursday.

Crews have already extinguished wildfires in Chenango, Yates, Ulster and Sullivan counties that were fed by dry, breezy conditions. Crews are also monitoring other wildfires around the state.

Greene County is 130 miles north of New York City.
