SARATOGA, Calif. (AP) - An employee at a Northern California science camp has been arrested for child pornography after authorities found hundreds of images and videos of child pornography in his personal computer and phone.

The San Jose Mercury News reports (https://bayareane.ws/1AJyiHO ) authorities on Thursday arrested 27-year-old Edgar Covarrubias, who lives and works at Saratoga’s Walden West Science camp.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office says Covarrubias has “several hundred” photos and videos on his personal computer and phone.

Federal authorities tipped local officials about Covarrubias after his name came up as part of an investigation into people trading child pornography online.

Camp officials say none of the man’s jobs required him to interact with any of the students at the camp.

He was also fired from his job, where he had worked since August 2013.
