JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area and Lowe’s are teaming up to celebrate National Women Build Week.

National Women Build Week is a weeklong event created by Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program that challenges women to devote at least one day to help build affordable housing in their local communities.

Volunteers will be working from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Women Build Honorary Chairwoman and volunteer Elee Reeves, wife of Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves, and Women Build Chairwoman Maura Phillips and others will be on hand to raise the walls and trusses on a home in the Virden addition of north Jackson.

More than 300 Habitat for Humanity affiliates are hosting Women Build events this year.
