ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York officials are reminding parents that free child car seat inspections are being offered around the state this year.

Police agencies are partnering with community groups to offer the inspections. They also can help parents find the right car seat for their child.

On Saturday, inspections will be held starting at 10 a.m. at the Valu-Home Center in Batavia, Paul Brown Motors in Olean and at Lowes on Simon Drive in Syracuse. The Olean safety check runs until 2 p.m. The others run until 1 p.m.

Inspections will be held at Curry Road Plaza in Rotterdam on Thursday.

And on Saturday, May 16, inspections will be held at the Family Dollar Parking Lot in Bath and at 900 King Street in Rye Brook.
