TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police are investigating an early morning gang-related shooting that has left one man dead.

Sgt. Pete Dugan says officers were called around 1:50 a.m. Saturday to reports of a shooting in a parking lot and found the victim with gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders transported him to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

According to investigators, the victim and his girlfriend had arrived to an establishment together. The girlfriend went inside first.

The victim then got into an altercation with other people outside and gunfire was exchanged.

Dugan says the other people involved fled before police arrived but it is believed to be gang-related.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
