ATLANTA (AP) - Newnan police are allowing people to finalize online transactions at the police station.

Police Chief Douglas Meadows said buyers and sellers who set up an online sale can complete it in person at the Public Safety Center.

Authorities have added several dedicated parking spaces at the center to accommodate the visitors.

Meadows told WSB-TV (https://bit.ly/1EXgzAL ) that if an online contact is unwilling to meet at a police station to finalize a deal, then it would be wise to cancel it. Meadows said police can also run serial numbers on online goods to make sure they are not stolen.
