CHICAGO (AP) - A five-hour standoff has ended with SWAT team officers taking several people into custody at an apartment building on Chicago’s North Side.

The confrontation began before dawn Saturday when someone inside the building fired shots at officers in the Edgewater neighborhood.

Witnesses told the Chicago Tribune five or six shots were fired from the second-floor, where a resident was hosting a party.

Hours later, several people still inside the second-floor apartment surrendered peacefully and were detained for questioning.

No injuries were reported.
