BEDFORD, Ind. (AP) - Southern Indiana police say a 72-year-old man died after his new riding lawn mower overturned and trapped him beneath it as he was mowing a hillside.

The Times-Mail reports (https://bit.ly/1H5rLvP ) that a police officer and a firefighter were the first on scene and were able to move the mower off of Donnie Brown.

Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham says Brown was pronounced dead at the scene Friday afternoon a few miles east of Bedford, a city about 20 miles south of Bloomington.

Branham says the mower was a new zero-turn mower that can overturn easily if the user is on a hillside and unfamiliar with how they operate on such terrain.
