ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police say a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man also allegedly shot a convenience store clerk last year.

Police spokesman Simon Drobik says Reynaldo Marquez was taken into custody Saturday for a murder charge in the death of Corey Givens.

Givens was found Wednesday lying in the middle of a street with multiple gunshot wounds.

Drobik says Marquez admitted during police interviews to being involved in several robberies, including one on Dec. 7 in which a clerk was shot.

Marquez is being booked on other charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, armed robbery, tampering with evidence and conspiracy.

Police have not given a motive for Givens’ shooting.

It was unclear if Marquez has an attorney.
