NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Zoo is holding a Mother’s Day contest to name the facility’s new baby zebra.

The Virginian-Pilot (https://bit.ly/1RoNuoi) reports the zoo’s zebra named Abbey gave birth to a female foal on April 13.

The zoo says in a statement it is taking suggestions for names, which must be submitted online at VirginiaZoo.org by May 22. The staff will vote on the top five names.

The person who suggests the winning name will win a $200 shopping spree in the zoo’s gift shop.

The unnamed foal will be with her mother for a little more than a year before she’s weaned.
