WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) - The West Virginia Sports Writers Association will hold its annual awards banquet on May 17.

High school and college athletes will be honored, along with awards for West Virginia basketball coach Bob Huggins and Poca High School boys basketball coach Allen Osborne.

The event at WesBanco Arena also will include the induction of retired West Virginia athletic director Ed Pastilong and the late Ralph Tasker into the West Virginia Sports Hall of Fame. The sports hall is located in the Charleston Civic Center.

Both are graduates of Moundsville High School.

Pastilong led the WVU athletic department from 1989 through 2010.

Tasker compiled a record of 1,222 wins and 291 losses when he retired in 1998. Most of those came in Hobbs, New Mexico, where his teams captured 11 state championships.
