RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police say a vehicle ran off a bridge and plunged about 60 feet to the bottom of a ravine, killing one person and injuring another.

State police tell media outlets that the vehicle ran off eastbound Interstate 64 in Richmond and hit the barrier wall. The vehicle then began to overturn and flipped off the bridge between the eastbound and westbound spans.

State police say the driver, 22-year-old Shelby Pressley of Williamsburg, died at the scene. A passenger, 33-year-old Joshua T. Abney of Williamsburg, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Both were wearing seat belts.
