VOLNEY, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a woman was killed in a two-car crash in central New York.

It happened just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Volney in Oswego County, 23 miles northwest of Syracuse.

Authorities say a Toyota was traveling westbound on Route 3 when a Kia crossed over the road and collided with the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota, 72-year-old Joyce Rice of the neighboring city of Fulton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 56-year-old woman who was driving the other vehicle was taken to University Hospital in Syracuse with injuries that aren’t life-threatening. Troopers say charges are pending against her.
