ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police are investigating a dispute between parents that came to blows at Zuni Elementary School.

KOAT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Qy05WF ) that officers were called to school Friday after two mothers thwarted throwing punches in a fourth-grade classroom.

Investigators say one mother was attending a Thanksgiving luncheon with her daughter when she noticed a group of children making faces at her daughter. They say the mother went over to the group and verbally confronted them before taking her daughter back to a classroom.

Police say a mother of one of the other girls confronted the first mother and at some point the second mother began throwing punches. Both women suffered bruises and one had lacerations. A clump of blonde hair was found in the middle of the classroom.

No children were injured.
