TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say the U.S. 60 freeway in Tempe is reopening after being closed during much of the Thursday morning commute.

The closure was due to police activity and caused long traffic delays in parts of the Phoenix area.

Police said negotiators talked a young man into coming down from an overpass. He had been described as suicidal.
