SEATTLE (AP) - A real-estate investment company has expressed interest in remodeling KeyArena in Seattle to host NHL and NBA teams.

The Seattle Times reports (https://bit.ly/1SLUHhP ) that Seattle native Christopher Brozovich, who is vice president of New Mexico-based M.T. Phoenix LLC, is still waiting to hear back from Mayor Ed Murray about his proposal to have his company fund the estimated $285 million project. He sent a letter to the mayor on July 20.

Brozovich says his company found KeyArena could be renovated at its existing size.

M.T. Phoenix’s proposal comes as city officials move forward with investor Chris Hansen’s plan for a new basketball and hockey arena in the city. The city has issued a Memorandum of Understanding with Hansen but is still pursuing other options.
