ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say seven Henderson State University students have been arrested for vandalizing the neighboring Ouachita Baptist University campus ahead of the schools’ annual rivalry football game.

Little Rock television station KATV reports (https://bit.ly/1Sl7qar ) that someone painted a red “H” on the turf at Ouachita’s football field. Vandals also spray-painted, put sugar in gas tanks and slashed tires on vehicles on campus.

The students were arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal mischief.

Henderson State says the behavior “falls far below the expectations we have of our students.” Both schools urged students to avoid such pranks so the rivalry game can continue.

The Reddies and Tigers are set to face off Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ouachita Baptist in the “Battle of the Ravine.”
