LAS VEGAS (AP) - Organizers are opening a health and fitness expo ahead of weekend races including the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon.
Competitor Group spokesman Dan Cruz said Thursday a total of 45,000 runners are expected to take part in events including a 5-kilometer race on Saturday and 10K, half-marathon and marathon races on Sunday.
They’ll pick up race credentials at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed for the Sunday afternoon and evening races.
Cruz says about 5,500 runners are registered for the 26.2-mile marathon this year, and 28,500 are entered in the 13.1-mile half-marathon.
The start lines Sunday will be near the Luxor resort. The finish will be near The Mirage.
More than 20 music acts are scheduled to play on stages along the course.
